What is an affiliate?
We like to think of all affiliates as our friends. Working together, we sell t-shirts and share the profits. An affiliate promotes our products to the people they know, or people on their website or social networking profile. When their visitors or friends click their link, they go to our website and can buy our products. Affiliates earn from these people buying our products. Simple as that.

How do I sign up?
Signing up is easy! Just click the "Affiliate Login/Signup" link to the left. However, we currently only accept online applications from affiliates that have previously made a purchase on koonukiwear.com. All other applications must be made by contacting us first.

What if I have other questions?
Simply contact us. Creating an account first will ensure your question gets a swift response. There are links to contact us at the top of every page, and in the affiliate box of every page. Affiliates tend to get a quicker response from us than normal customers, but please keep that a secret! Using the affiliate contact us link will take you to a secure page, so nobody else can see your questions! This is to protect your privacy.

What do I get out of it?
You will receive a percentage of sales in payment at the end of every month, provided your account balance has been above £6 for at least 30 days. You might only receive earnings that have been in your account for 30 days, though sometimes we are more generous. This gives us ample time to deal with any returns or order cancellations. The current rate of pay is 10% as cash (cheque/paypal/bank transfer) or 20% as store credit. Your choice!

How much money can I make?
This depends on your enthusiasm. You will get 10% of every sale you create (through people clicking on your links) in cash, or 20% in store credit. If you choose store credit, you are authorised to sell any products you purchase with that store credit on ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk, or your local version), provided it is auction format. As an affiliate, you will soon be given access to an area of the shop where every product is discounted. This is an affiliates only benefit, and will hopefully be available in the near future. You are also authorised to sell these products on your local ebay website, and this may be in both auction and buy it now format. Affiliates who make use of all of these opportunities are likely to earn a reasonably large amount of money.

I have signed up, what next?
Use the affiliate navigation box on the left to view our banners and text links. Copy and paste the given code into any website you have and get people to click banners or links. Our system will automatically recognise that it was your link the customer clicked, allowing us to pass your share of the earnings on to you. The most succesful affiliates will use their link on their web pages, in their social networking profiles (such as Facebook), in instant messages and in e-mails. However, we ask that you don not spam. Spamming is defined as sending messages out in bulk (more than 5 at a time) to people you have no personal regular contact with.

Can I make my own banners?
Yes! Make any banners you like, and link them to your affiliate web link (displayed at the top of the "Affiliate Banners / Links" page). However, do not advertise falsely in any way. This would be a violation of our terms and conditions.

What are banners?
Banners are text or images that advertise and link to a website. In this case, your banners will be the colourful attractive boxes or words that convince people to buy a t-shirt on our site. Basically, banners earn you money...

How can I tell how much I have earned?
Click "Affiliate Summary" in the affiliate box on the left after loggin in. Pressing [?] anywhere in affiliate pages will launch a popup box with an explanation of the values.

When do I get paid?
If you have specifically chosen cash or store credit payments, we will process your payments automatically. Otherwise, you will get an e-mail every month (provided you have earnings in your account) asking which you would prefer, or if you would prefer to wait until next month to be paid. Waiting may be beneficial if you have more orders you want commission for that will not be enough on their own to get your commission next month. Why would it not be enough? Well, we only pay out when your total commission exceeds £5.99, as the administration cost for smaller amounts would be far greater than what you actually earn. We do NOT charge administration fees on commissions above £5.99. You may request payments for less than £6, but there will be a 15% administration fee attached (minimum 25p). All payments will be processed monthly, provided the sale that earned the commission has been helf for 30 days (this is to allow ample time for returns/cancellations and its processing).

Can I link to a specific product?
This feature will be coming soon. We are having some problems with our banners. However, if you are desperate for a direct link, you can do so by changing your personal link as follows:
Change index.php to product_info.php
Example: http://www.koonukiwear.com/PRODUCT_INFO.PHP?ref=1&affiliate_banner_id=1
Remove &affiliate_banner_id=1
Add &products_id=XXX after ref=1
Where XXX is the product number. You can find the product number by navigating to it on the website. The URL in your address bar in your browser will include products_id=XXX. Use that number.
An example of the result: http://www.koonukiwear.com/product_info.php?ref=1&products_id=363
This will succesfully link to a particular product and link purchases back to you.
WARNING! Do not copy any part of the URL other than that mentioned, as copying the session ID (the random jumble of letters) can sometimes, though rarely, result in other people having access to your personal information.
You may use the product images, but they must not exceed 150px x 150px in dimensions (pixels), and must be clearly labelled (either on the image itself, or within a 30 pixel radius of it) as copyright. If on the image itself, it must be labelled as "Copyright www.koonukiwear.com" or "Copyright 2008 Koonuki Wear (koonukiwear.com)". If you choose to put the notification elsewhere it must say "Copyright 2008 Koonuki Wear (Jones & Keany) - www.koonukiwear.com". These notices may be on more than one line (maximum 3 lines) and must be clearly visible to 99% of users (eg, contrasting colours, font size 10px or greater). Your own personal images may be used any way you like, as long as they do not alter our images. You may NOT alter our images in any way other than resizing and rotating, and must NOT add anything close to it that suggests anything derrogatory about the images. You must surrender all rights to the images on demand and delete all copies that you own. Exemptions to these terms (such as permission to modify image colours) may be available on request.
